Only 126 sleeps till the Christmas Fair but still time for reading…

Have you got a stack of summer reading? If so, having immersed yourself in a great story please consider donating your books to our Cathedral Christmas fair. The book stall is always popular at the fair and the bestselling items are fiction paperbacks.

Plans are coming together for the fair on Saturday 28th of November but there are so many things to do and ways to get involved... Could you help us improve Santa’s grotto? I need people to help with sewing the roof decoration so that the setup is super easy.

However, if ‘So - a needle pulling thread’ is not your thing, then perhaps you could help with serving ‘Ti’ in Becket Hall with our dedicated Choir Parents, or make the Jam for ‘a drink with Jam and Bread’ and to stock up the Jam & Preserves stall, which sells out every year!

Other ways you can volunteer are by baking a cake, cookies or cupcakes - always a popular purchase on the day. And don’t forget if you’re having a clear out over the summer, then we’re happy to take small donations of jewellery any time and nearer the time donations for any of the following items including good quality children's toys, scarves, hats, bags and other accessories, new toiletry or perfume items, as well as donations to the Bottle Tombola and Chocolate Tombola stalls. If you have any suggestions to improve the Christmas fair, or you'd like to get involved with the promotion, organisation of the event or you are able to sponsor or donate a raffle prize, please let me know. rachael.forder@portsmouthcathedral.org.uk
