Parish Lunch Club Volunteer Chef
Due to the retirement of one of our volunteers, we are looking for a new cook to join our Lunch Club team.
Do you enjoy cooking and would like to use your skills to support our Cathedral and parish community?
Our friendly Parish Lunch Club provides a welcoming place where members can enjoy a freshly cooked meal, companionship and conversation. Without the time, commitment and passion of our volunteers, we simply wouldn't be able to offer this valuable service.
We are looking for a Volunteer Chef to help plan, purchase and prepare meals for around 40–50 Lunch Club members. You'll be supported by a dedicated team of volunteers who set up the hall, welcome members, serve meals, chat with guests and clear away afterwards, allowing you to focus on preparing the food.
You don't need to cook both courses – preparing either the main course or the dessert is absolutely fine.
We're looking for someone who:
Enjoys cooking healthy, home-cooked meals at minimal cost.
Has a friendly, approachable manner and enjoys helping others.
Works well as part of a team.
Commitment: Mondays, once a fortnight during school term time, approximately 10.00am – 2.30pm. Generally equates to 18 Lunch Clubs per year.
Volunteering with us is a rewarding opportunity to become part of a dedicated team of clergy, staff and volunteers who seek to provide the highest standards of Christian community and service. If you enjoy cooking and would like to make a real difference by bringing people together over a delicious meal, we'd love to hear from you.
