We are seeking an experienced and motivated Head of Fundraising to lead and further develop our fundraising activity at a pivotal time for the Cathedral. This is a strategic and hands‑on role, working closely with the Chief Operating Officer and Senior Management Team to secure the resources needed to sustain and grow the Cathedral’s mission, ministry and buildings.
You will take the lead on generating fundraising income, primarily through trusts and foundations, while also developing appeals, legacy giving, regular giving and new fundraising income streams. You will build on the strong foundations already in place, bringing creativity, rigour and collaboration to everything you do.
Permanent contract 28 hours per week.

We’re looking for a part-time Shop Manager to ensure the effective operation of the Cathedral Shop, so that it maximises income for the charity’s work. The Shop Manager will undertake all stock management systems and process , volunteer coordination, and day-to-day processes, ensuring the shop thrives as a welcoming, efficient, and community-focused space. As the key contact for volunteers, the manager will help maintain an engaged, informed, and motivated team.

We’re looking for someone to fulfil a wide range of duties working alongside the other Administrative Assistant and volunteers in support of the Office Manager to provide coordinated administration across the Cathedral team. In addition, the post holder will support the Chief Operating Officer in tasks related to the management of the residential let properties located in Old Portsmouth. This includes coordinating property checks, arranging basic repairs and maintenance, supporting lettings activity, and carrying out viewings when properties are vacant. The property portfolio includes flats accessed by stairs only and will require the post holder to visit the flats in accordance with our lone working policy..

We are looking for a friendly, practical and flexible Assistant Verger and Precinct Officer to support worship, welcome visitors and help care for our historic Cathedral and precincts.
You will assist with services, events and concerts, work with staff and volunteers, and help ensure a safe, clean and welcoming environment. No previous cathedral experience required; sympathy with the Christian faith and willingness to work evenings and weekends are essential.
Portsmouth Cathedral is committed to the highest standards of safeguarding practice and an enhanced DBS will be required for this role

The Guild of Guides is now over 50 years old. The Guides are the first point of contact for many people who visit our historic building. They work closely together to give the visitor a friendly, helpful and memorable experience.
Arranging flowers is part of our offering of service and worship, and is a very relaxing and enjoyable way to spend a morning.
A team who meet on Tuesday mornings in the memorial garden to keep it as a place of beauty and tranquillity. Ashes are still interred with names inscribed on the stone path or on memorial stones.
Shop Assistants are key members of the Cathedral Team who make our visitors experiences memorable as they browse for gifts and keepsakes in our Cathedral Shop.
