Celebrating Garden Wildlife Week at Portsmouth Cathedral

As we mark Garden Wildlife Week, beginning on the Spring Bank Holiday, Portsmouth Cathedral invites you to explore the natural sanctuary nestled within our historic grounds. This annual event encourages individuals and communities to connect with nature and promote biodiversity in their gardens. Heres some of the work we do!

Our Memorial Garden: A Haven for Wildlife

Portsmouth Cathedral's Memorial Garden is more than a place of remembrance; it's a vibrant ecosystem supporting local wildlife. Managed by our dedicated "Adams" gardening team, the garden features bird boxes and a log pile for bugs, creating habitats for various creatures. These initiatives align with our commitment to the Eco Church project, reflecting our dedication to environmental stewardship.

Engaging with Nature: Activities and Resources

Garden Wildlife Week is an opportunity to engage in activities that support local wildlife. At Portsmouth Cathedral, we encourage visitors to share eco-tips in and around our community.

Do drop into the Cathedral Shop, where you’ll find a thoughtful selection of honey-based products, bird feed to help support wildlife in your own garden, and a range of beautifully illustrated cards inspired by nature.
