Christian Aid Week: 10–16 May 2026

Christian Aid is an international charity founded by churches in Britain and Ireland over 80 years ago. They work with partners and communities in Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean to support people experiencing poverty and affected by humanitarian emergencies and climate change.

They can be found in Gaza and Ukraine as well as helping people in developing countries learn the skills to grow enough food or start a business. By volunteering or raising funds with them, you can be there when disaster strikes. Times are harder for everyone but much worse for poorer countries where overseas aid has been withdrawn and projects cancelled.

At Portsmouth Cathedral, join us for a Big Breakfast on 17 May, you can also organise your own events such as coffee mornings, tea parties, sponsored walks, or whatever wonderful ideas you may come up with. Please get involved and turn hope into action. We have 7 days to make a difference.

Contact Sue Ward, our Christian Aid representative, or any of the clergy if you can help. Thank you!
