The Patronal Festival Evensong is a special service held to celebrate the Cathedral's dedication and the feast day of our patron saint, St. Thomas the Apostle. Led by the Portsmouth Cathedral Choir, this service of scripture, prayers, and choral music includes traditional hymns and responses, with the congregation invited to participate. The Patronal Festival is a time for the Cathedral community to come together in worship and reflection, giving thanks for the history, faith, and mission of the Cathedral. While the service follows the familiar structure of Choral Evensong, it is enriched with special prayers and readings that mark the significance of St. Thomas and his role in the early Church.
