As we approach our centenary in 2027, we are looking ahead with hope and purpose. We want to ensure that our tradition of choral music continues to thrive, not just for today, but for generations to come.

A living tradition, sustained for the future
Portsmouth Cathedral stands as a place of prayer, welcome and belonging, known as the Cathedral of the Sea. Rooted in our local community, we offer a space where music, worship and daily life meet.
Choral music lies at the heart of this life. It enriches our worship, deepens spiritual experience, and connects us to a tradition that has been sustained in cathedrals for hundreds of years.
We believe this tradition should be open to all. Through our choirs and outreach work, we welcome children and young people from across the city, from a wide range of schools and backgrounds.
