This annual celebration, attended by the Lord Mayor and other representatives of the City and Seafaring charities, honours Portsmouth's distinguished maritime history and current naval importance.  We recognise all who work to conserve our seas and oceans, all whose livelihood depends on the sea, and all who serve to keep others safe on the waters.  The preacher this year is Canon Duncan Dormor, CEO of USPG and one of our Canon Theologians.  After the service, the Lord Mayor leads a procession to the seafront for a wreath laying ceremony.
