Mediaeval Pilgrimage: faith, fun or folly

Pilgrimage is enjoying a big revival in our own day. Come and discover more about its roots in the Middle Ages, and the significance of local destinations as well as famous sites like Walsingham and, of course, Canterbury. Nicholas Orme is Emeritus Professor of History at the University of Exeter and Honorary Lay Canon of Truro Cathedral. His book The History of England’s Cathedrals (2017) the only history from 314A.D. to the present will be on sale at the Cathedral Shop during the event when copies can be signed by the author.
